A catch-all mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to non-existent addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an out-of-date email address or has made a spelling error. The disadvantage of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of junk messages, but this problem can be solved using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also essential to remember that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound email messages to a 3rd-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

In case you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you have a web hosting account, you will be able to enable the catch-all functionality for any e-mailbox that you set up under the domain. The Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section includes quite a few features, but it is surprisingly easy to work with, so creating a catch-all mailbox takes just one single mouse click. All the email addresses that you have set up will be displayed in this section in alphabetical order and you’ll simply have to click the "Catch-all" button associated with the specific address. Our system will inform you if there is already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain name or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either disable the latter feature or pick another mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as easy and requires one more click on the very same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all email address can be created with several mouse clicks in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server with our company. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be administered through our in-house developed Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll be able to create email addresses under any domain name registered here. To activate the catch-all functionality for a mailbox, you’ll need to click on the sign with the same name, which will be to the right of each mailbox. Deactivating this option can be achieved in the very same manner and will not take more than a click either. If the catch-all feature has already been activated for a particular domain, you’ll get a warning message. The same goes if the mailbox that you would like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never deactivate or replace anything automatically.
